Days/Rotate - 8 hr
Processing technician affirms specimen identification, lab orders and ensures specimens are received in department in the computer system and physically. Performs other related computer and clerical functions under supervision. The processing technician will work primarily in the sample preparation area but may be assigned to various tasks in other areas of the laboratory. The technician may be required to perform phlebotomy or other specimen collections.
High school diploma is required. One to two years of college science courses is highly desired, and/or extensive experience in a clinical laboratory. Computer familiarity with keyboards and system navigation is required. Medical terminology and/or knowledge of basic anatomy is required.
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment is highly preferred
