Main Function

This position will be supervisory in nature, based in Sayre, but oversees services held in other Guthrie regional offices. This position has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Vascular Lab Service. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the daily activities of the technicians to assure optimum workflow. Interprets/dictates vascular studies in conjunction with vascular surgeons and/or Medical Director. Assures communication of study results with referring machines and equipment. Responsible for the administrative record keeping and planning. Strategic resource decisions to be made in conjunction with the practice manager and Medical Director; daily allocation of resources is the responsibility of the technical director. This person will be responsible for managing the network, assuring quality of all technicians, identifying allied health professionals to be trained as vascular technicians, and assisting with the training of these individuals.
This position will work directly with Clinic managers and will be accountable for managing an FTE budget and other operational expenses, developing training program, and creating a marketing program. It is expected that the vascular lab supervisor will spend approximately one day per week on administrative duties. Must be capable of working cooperatively, making independent decisions, and using good judgment. Expected to communicate effectively with all co-workers and reports to foster an environment of respect and collaboration. This position will assume the duties of a vascular technician when needed. Must be able to travel to other Guthrie Clinic offices in New York and Pennsylvania, if required.


Completion of a two-year Allied Health Education Program in patient care is required (i.e. Registered Nurse, Radiologic Technician).  CPR training required within six months of hire.


5-10 years of full-time clinical ultrasound/vascular experience is required.  Must possess excellent communication and computer skills.  This position will involve some travel and a valid driver’s license is also required.  Computer skills and excellent communication skills are required.
