The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse with clinical expertise in peri-operative nursing. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for the planning, directing, and evaluating of education and quality improvement needs for the peri-operative departments (OR, ASU, PACU, Endoscopy). The Assistant Nurse Manager will serve as a preceptor and educator to staff in order to develop their competencies in the specialty. Will assume responsibility under the direction of the Nurse Manager for orienting and evaluating staff competency and regulatory compliance.
Provides Administrative support to the Nurse Manager. Assists with oversight of daily operations of nursing units including but not limited to staffing, assisting staff to prioritize tasks. Assists with patient care, patient concerns/complaints. Assists with recruiting, hiring and training staff. Assists with planning, development and implementation of process improvement projects. Assist with policy review and development. Represent the unit in hospital meetings, seminars and other functions. Assist with performance feedback to staff as needed. Assumes responsibility of the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager. Bachelor of Nursing preferred, AAS in Nursing.
