The Director of the Cortland Memorial Foundation is a member of the Guthrie Resource Development team and furthers Guthrie’s mission by securing philanthropic support for the Cortland Memorial Foundation and the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC). Reporting to the Director for Resource Development, the Director is responsible for planning, implementing and managing a comprehensive program for ongoing fundraising and donor relations, increasing public awareness of the Foundation through community service programs and assisting in the development of long-range plans for the future benefit for GCMC. The Director implements a total development program to advance the goals of the Cortland Memorial Foundation.
BS or BA in business, communications or marketing or comparable degree. Certified Fund Raising (CFRE) credential is plus
4 to 5 years of experience in fund raising preferably with experience in a healthcare setting. Proven excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail, organizational and planning ability, ability to work independently with minimum supervision, ability to work within a budget and meet deadlines. Familiarity with computers and computer applications. Prior training and experience with Microsoft Programs, Raiser’s Edge, and Quick Books is preferred. Grantsmanship experience also applicable.
Willingness to travel outside the office, occasional evening and weekend work. Flexibility required to adjust to other needs of the department. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance required.
