This position is part of the CH bargaining unit.
General clerical functions to include (but not limited to): receiving, screening and processing of phone calls and/or patients/visitors. Coordination and filing of records and reports, performs duties involving the operation of equipment necessary in processing medical images,financial or medical necessity checking and review, update of various financial documents or forms, including charge entry and assists in other non-technical departmental duties as assigned
Various Computer functions including( but not limited to): IDX, EPIC, Radiant, Beaker, PACS and multiple Microsoft office programs including word, excel, and Powerpoint. Percentage of time spent on each component directly depends on departmental needs.
High School Grad or Equivalent. Post high school work in the secretarial sciences desirable. Working knowledge of medical terminology required with a medical terminology course preferred. Proficiency with computer office software including Microsoft Word, and excel required. Must possess an abiding commitment to basic ethical and legal principles including familiarity with HIPAA and protected health information.. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all customers in order to interact effectively with employees, patients, medical staff and the public. Competency in keyboarding with the ability to type at minimum 40 wpm.
Previous hospital or medical office experience required, preferably in hospital lab/radiology setting.
