Troy Community Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital located in Troy, PA. The Emergency Department provides care to patients of all ages with minor to severe medical and trauma related emergencies. In 2017 Troy Community Hospital was designated as an Adult Level IV Trauma Center by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation. The Emergency Department has five rooms, which include a trauma/critical care bay with two beds. The ED is staffed with two RNs who work twelve-hour shifts, alongside a physician, unit clerk and care partner or emergency services technician.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Essential functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.
One year RN experience within the last five years preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) desired. Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call. Will need to demonstrate the ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Must demonstrated leadership skills, skills contributing towards a positive teamwork environment, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
