Main Function
Provide high quality nursing care for assigned residents in accordance with gerontological nursing standards of practice. To maintain collaborative relationships with other nursing staff members, physicians, and ancillary staff to provide this care. To assume a Nursing Supervisor role and actively participate in the orientation of new staff. To maintain an appropriate level of education/in-service programs and self development.
Education
Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program. Nurses hired who have not earned a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, will be required to do so within four (4) years from their date of hire.
Experience
Prefer 1-2 years geriatric nursing experience but will supply an orientation program specific to the asignment.
