Responsible for providing mental health services to patients on the inpatient unit, including assessment, counseling, education, discharge planning, acting as a community resource liaison, offering assistance to family members when appropriate and following up with patients. The delivery of quality services and positive interaction with our customers is critical to the completion of all the tasks within this job description. These duties will be performed within the guidelines and standards of this institution and in accordance with state and federal statues where applicable. A goal of this position is to ensure that all contacts and customers receive quality services. The staff must be willing to participate in the quality improvement process, including, but not limited to, identifying areas in which quality improvement process can be applied; collecting and organizing quality measurement data; and participating in quality teams.
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field required.
At least two years working directly with psychiatric patients in either an inpatient or outpatient setting required. Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information in a tactful and diplomatic manner Ability to deal with stressful situations Excellent interpersonal skills. General knowledge of office machines. Strong communications, organizational and facilitation skills. Excellent writing skills Excellent problem solving skills Computer skills Strong customer service skills Ability to write brief, understandable client progress notes
