We care for acute med/surg patients: requiring cardiology consults on telemetry, cardiac drips, CHF, pneumonia, cellulitis, level 4 trauma patients, surgical patients w/ bowel resections, cholecystectomies, etc. In addition, we care for subacute patients – with medically complex needs requiring IV therapy, wound care/ therapy, rehab services (PT/OT/ST), TPN, etc. We have a ventilator weaning program, which has one of the highest success rates in the northeast. Our nurses work alongside of and are supported by Nurse Practitioner, Hospitalist, patient care partners, sitters, unit clerks, and respiratory therapy. There is an active Unit Council on Troy 1 Main responsible for guiding patient and staff satisfaction. Staff take ownership of our unit’s needs, our patients become our family.
