As a member of interdisciplinary team, the Hospice nurse works under the general direction of the Director of Hospice and attending Physician in the provision of the skilled nursing assessment, planning, and care in order to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families. Responsible for identifying patient/family needs for providing supportive care in accordance with attending Physician's orders and interdisciplinary plan of care and Guthrie Hospice policies and procedures. Responsible to provide direct supervision of Home Health Aides and or LPN's providing care for Guthrie Hospice.
Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program.
One year experience in acute care setting and/or previous Hospice experience or similar work with patients/families experience terminal illness is preferred. Experience and skill in supervision desired.
