Main Function
To provide high quality nursing care for an assigned patient in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. To maintain collaborative relationships with other nursing staff members, physicians and ancillary staff to provide this care. To maintain an appropriate level of knowledge and clinical skill through continuing education/inservices and self-study activities. Medical-Surgical and Critical Care nurses care for adult and geriatric patients. Maternal-child, emergency department and OR, procedural services provide care for infants, children, adult and geriatrics.
Education
The staff practical nurse must be licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. In addition, the staff LPN must meet individual nursing unit specifications regarding educational requirements during employment. Must maintain CPR certification.
Experience
The staff nurse must be a an LPN currently licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
