ARRT certification in radiology is required.  Certification in one or more of the following is required:  Mammography, CT, or Ultrasound.

Main Function

Specialty Tech is cross trained in multiple modalities floating across various departments. Prepare mammography unit and perform QC daily. Operate mammography unit to perform mammography studies. Operate ultrasound unit to perform sonographic evaluation of designated portions of the body. Operate bone densitometer to perform osteoporosis evaluation.
Operate CT scanner to perform computed tomography studies of designated portion of the body.


Completion of normal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school (2 years) is required.


Six months to one year experience in mammography, ultrasound, BMD or CT is required.
