Must be certified by ASCP Board of Registry or Board eligible successfully submitting for certification within 6 mos of accepting position.
Position will be the primary supervisor of Cytology or Histology, but additionally will actively integrate the entire Anatomic Pathology (A/P) functions throughout the departmental shifts, inclusive of Pathology Clerical, Cytology, Gross Sectioning Room, Surgery Frozen Section Room, and Histology. Position will assure technical quality and conformance with regulatory authorities. The position will promote Service Excellence, Employee satisfaction, Lean / Six Sigma activities and function as the primary back up for the Administrative Director.
Bachelor of Science Degree in an A/P discipline is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences may be considered if paired with relevant experience in a clinical laboratory. Advanced management degrees or courses are highly preferred.
Experienced Cytotechnologist with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in Anatomic Pathology. Advanced degrees in Management preferred. Must be certified by ASCP Board of Registry or Board eligible successfully submitting for certification within 6 mos of accepting position. Experience must include escalating levels of responsibility and a demonstrated ability to manage staff in the achievement of department goals. Management experience is preferred.
