Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and reviewing the activities of the Accountant I and Accountant II personnel. The Senior Accountant will have a critical role in implementing the internal controls of the Finance Department to ensure processes are being performed in accordance with the Organization’s Policies and Procedures.
Bachelor’s Degree required with a preferred emphasis in accounting, finance, economics or related field of study from an accredited four-year college. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and/or CPA/HFMA Certification is preferred.
Three to five years of complex account reconciliation experience and the ability to work independently is required. Experience in the healthcare or a not for profit industry is preferred as well as working knowledge of healthcare operations, month end closing process, and cost allocations. Familiarity with PeopleSoft/Oracle and EPIC is a plus and a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word is required. Report writer experience is helpful.
