Guthrie Medical Group-Sayre
Leads all phlebotomy activities for RPH and all GMG locations. Plans, organizes and directs the daily activities of the personnel assigned to the section to assure quality, patient satisfaction and an optimum work flow. Additionally, is responsible for assisting in the optimization and standardization of phlebotomy practices across regional and on-campus draw sites through initial training, competency assessments and continual updates. Development and oversite of a phlebotomy school program to include all aspects of phlebotomy, including classroom lectures (didactic) and clinical components, in accordance with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
Candidates with a four-year degree in the biological sciences or preferably a Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science degree. The minimum requirements would be a Medical Laboratory Technician or an Associate’s Degree in the biological sciences. Significant experience performing phlebotomy is required.
Previous successful supervisory experience is highly preferred. Must have in-depth knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and computer operations. Must be able to evaluate procedures, processes, equipment and people and be capable of strategically planning improvements. Strong computer skills, people skills, supervisory skills, problem solving skills, teaching skills and a high degree of initiative are required.
