Insurance Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Social worker/Patient Coordinator to insure the insurance authorizations are completed in a timely fashion to ensure maximum reimbursement. The insurance coordinator is knowledgeable of system coverage and is able to evaluate the cost of services for cost containment while maximizing the clients benefit, which demonstrates strong financial management. They have qualities that are accountable for healthcare decisions and the flow of the healthcare delivery that addresses the ongoing needs of the individual being served by the insurance coordinator process.
A minimum of a Diploma/Associates Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field such as Nursing required within 5 years.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to acceptance of referrals, discharge planning and demonstrated ability to work independently and in conjunction with multiple members of the healthcare and payer source teams.
