Guthrie Medical Group-Big Flats
The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for performing ophthalmic work up, procedures, measurements and tests to provide data to the provider and assist in patient care. Position requires good understanding of optometry and ophthalmology outpatient day to day office routine. Assists provider throughout patient exam and office procedures. The Ophthalmic Assistant will continually demonstrate Patient Centeredness, Teamwork, and Excellence in the daily performance of their duties. This position requires the ability to be self-motivated, flexible, punctual, detail oriented, have good time management skills and have excellent communication skills.
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant preferred
2 years ophthalmic assisting experience with competency in working with both optometry and ophthalmology. Completion of home study course in ophthalmic assisting and Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) is required within the first 6 months of employment for those candidates without certification.
