The Vice President, Surgical Services provides strategic leadership for Robert Packer Hospital and The Guthrie Clinic surgical services operations, including the implementation of business plans that support the continued growth and success of surgical services within The Guthrie Clinic. Establishes and leads a cohesive governance structure that supports the hospitals and physicians. Collaborates with key stakeholders, including department leaders within or interacting with surgical services at the hospital and medical group level. Designs, plans and implements programs that balance the interest of the hospitals within The Guthrie Clinic.
The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining a service line structure that aligns with the health systems mission and goals of improved quality, service and growth. In coordination with Senior Leadership and key physician advisors, this position will direct the short- and long-term planning of the surgery service line. In partnership with hospital leaders and physicians, this position will ensure operational efficiency throughout the continuum of care of the surgical patient.
As the leader of Surgical Services for the system, the Vice President, Surgical Services will inspire a team of professionals committed to serving patients with exceptional care and promote the mission, vision and core values of The Guthrie Clinic. The Vice President will partner and collaborate with leaders and physicians throughout Robert Packer Hospital and The Guthrie Clinic to ensure the best patient care every patient, every time.
The Vice President, Surgical Services will have direct clinical and operational responsibility for Robert Packer Hospital surgical areas and other areas as assigned and an indirect strategic system level position over Perioperative Services to include Operating Room, Pre and Post Op, PACU, Sterile Processing at the hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers within The Guthrie Clinic in conjunction with the entity leadership of those sites to include:
Robert Packer Hospital,
Troy Community Hospital,
Towanda Memorial Hospital,
Cortland Medical Center,
Guthrie Same Day Surgery Center,
The Vice President, Surgical Services will be responsible for driving profitable growth and improving operations in terms of quality and processes. To be fully engaged in providing uncompromised safety, superior quality, memorable patient/customer experiences, and financial stewardship. This position will be based at Robert Packer Hospital and report directly to the SVP, President and Chief Operating Officer, Robert Packer Hospital.
Master's degree in Business Administration, Nursing Administration or related degree strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years progressive management/leadership experience
Health care experience in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers preferred
