CPR / AED Certification
The EMT-P is an allied health professional who provides a wide range of patient care and transportation outside the hospital setting. Under emergency and non-emergency conditions. The Paramedic will encounter all types of patients with complaints of chest pain to multiple patient accidents. The individual must be able to deal with all types of human responses from the patient, bystanders, and themselves. The Paramedic is responsible for functioning in the pre-hospital setting as well as various capacities throughout the hospital. Patient care encompasses patients of all ages regardless of race, religion, or cultural background.
Maintains current certification as an EMT-P by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Maintains current certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS. Must have EVOC certification. Must have current valid drivers license. Ability to read, write, understand oral communication and have verbal ability in giving presentations and teaching. Keeps neat and legible written records. Follows universal precautions. Utilizes proper body mechanics. Is able to make timely decisions. Is able to handle traumatic situations, such as the death of a patient, including children, and unpleasant sights.
