The Nursing Operations Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise. The manager facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and other team members. The Nursing Operations Manager contributes to the strategic planning process, day-to-day operations of the Nursing Operations Center, and attainment of goals of the organization.
The Nursing Operations Manager oversees the Nursing Operations Center and all Nursing Operations Supervisors. The manager is responsible for the management and administrative functions of the Nursing Operations Center. The Nursing Operations Manager is accountable for the management of patient care, human, fiscal, and material resources, the patient transfer process into and out of Robert Packer Hospital, patient flow, and nurse staffing on a twenty-four hour basis.
The Nursing Operations Manager must be currently licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required, and the Nursing Operations Manager must be prepared at the Master’s level. Certification in emergency nursing (CEN), transportation (CTRN), and/or critical care (CCRN) is preferred.
A minimum of five years RN experience and at least three years of prior experience in an ED or ICU setting is required. Previously demonstrated abilities in leadership are required. The Nursing Operations Manager must have extensive experience in a high acuity setting with strong clinical judgement, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and strong leadership and communication skills. Prior experience in emergency preparedness is preferred.
