Compliance with rules and regulations of all federal, state, and local governments is a requirement of employment. Meets with the Director of Nursing/Administrator to plan/evaluate care of residents.
Assists in orieneting and instructing new personnel.
Directs and supervises nursing personnel, including LPN's and CNA's on shift.
Provides direct resident care by utilizing the nursing process
Documents appropiately in resident record.
Accepts responsibility of team leader or charge nurse
Formulates resident care plans
Admits and asseses new residents
Participates in team conferences
Work with hospital discharge planner and family members
Works with area home health agencies as needed for discharged resident's needs.
Keeps informed of fire safety and disaster programs.
Attends designated inservice programs.
Participates in Performance Improvement activitites.
Participates in resident/family/caregives education and counseling.
Able to interact and direct staff in a postive and professional manner.
Resolves staffing problems.
Must take call.
Maintins resident rights.
Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program.
Preferable but not required. Maintains CPR certification. Ability to read, write, and understand written and oral communication. Follows universal precautions and utilizes proper body mechanics. Keeps up to date in the field of nursing, especially geriatrics. Act 34 Clearance (criminal background check)
