The Patient Attendant is responsible for assisting patients, families and customers entering and awaiting treatment and care in the Robert Packer Hospital Emergency Department. The Attendant shall help patients from vehicle or department entrance door to appropriate location within the department or facility. Additionally, the Attendant acts as communication liaison between patients and families waiting and clinical staff and provides comfort measures such as ice, pillows, blankets. Patient Attendants offer amenities such as coffee, juice and all other measures to ensure comfort of the patients family. The Attendant should keep clinical staff advised of changes and increased anxieties among the visitor population and notify Team Leader and/or providers of patients in distress. The Attendant shall also provide follow-up service calls to parents of pediatric patients and Emergency Department and daily face-to-face service surveys for patients in the Emergency Department.
High School Diploma; must be able to read, write and understand oral and written instructions.
Previous customer/ patient relations experience preferred.
