Guthrie Medical Group-Corning
Interprets and transcribes dictation by pathologists, pathologists assistants, and other pathology professionals regarding anatomic pathology reports including surgical specimens, autopsies, bone marrow, and flow cytometry specimens.
Minimum education level of associate’s degree or equivalent in work experience and continuing education. Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and specific knowledge of pathology and dermatopathology.
Typing skills of 80-90 words per minute accurately.
Familiarity with pathology and dermatopathology terminology is a plus. Previous experience working in this capacity would be valuable.
Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles.
Ability to operate designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment, and other equipment as specified. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete work within deadlines. Excellent listening skills and ability to concentrate. Excellent eye, hand, and auditory coordination is required.
