The manager is a professional nurse who, as a result of nursing education and clinical practice expertise, possesses knowledge and skill to assume responsibility for clinical practice in defined patient population (a 26 bed Psychiatric unit for adult and adolescent patients). Their clinical expertise enables them to advance care to patients and positively affect the delivery of care in their area. The manager utilizes evidence based standards of care and best practices for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. The manager utilizes exceptional interpersonal skills and fosters communication while interacting with staff, patients, and other members of the healthcare team. In addition, the manager will assist with administrative responsibilities and the supervision of staff, under the direction of the Director, Behavioral Health Services. He/she also helps to assess the needs and acuity of the patient population ensuring that the appropriate level of care is provided and offering assistance and guidance as needed.
The manager must have current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Professional Nurse in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Master’s Degree preferred and certification within one year of hiring to role (or when eligible). BLS required.
Five years experience in the defined clinical area. Demonstrated clinical excellence leadership abilities and teaching skills.
