Main Function
Performs setup of Respiratory and other DME products to customers either at the office, in the customers home, or in an alternate care facility according to physicians orders. Instructs customers in the use and maintenance of respiratory and other DME equipment/products. Acts as liaison between the customer and his/her physician as well as other members of the healthcare team regarding physician orders, complications, recommendations, and billing information. Acts as primary case manager for customers clinical needs with respiratory equipment, apnea monitors, enteral units, and other equipment as appropriate. Maintains complete care plans for customers as appropriate and works with customers to establish and achieve set goals to increase his/her quality of life. Tracks new respiratory equipment setups and maintains accurate clinical information spreadsheets on a weekly basis.
Education
- Minimum of A.S. Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Must hold current NY or PA State Licensure and be willing to attain other state.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience
- Must have five years experience in Respiratory Therapy.
- Must have minimum of three years ICU experience.
- Experience in homecare preferred.
- Familiarity with DME preferred.
- Familiarity with geographical area helpful.
