Main Function

  • The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator supports the Emergency Preparedness Taskforce of Robert Packer Hospital. In this role, the Coordinator will:
    • Provide coordination and follow-up of Taskforce action items
    • Coordinate, provide and document emergency preparedness training and education
    • Work with local and regional emergency services to coordinate the planning and carrying out of drills
    • Maintain written emergency management plans, including updates and changes
    • Assist the Director of Clinical Regulatory Compliance in ensuring that the hospital is compliant with Joint Commission, OSHA, DOH and NEPA standards for Emergency Preparedness
    • Respond and participate in planned exercises, as well as any unplanned events that may occur
    • Provide updates to the RPH Emergency Preparedness Committee and the Guthrie Health Emergency Preparedness Committee
    • Attend meetings with  local and regional emergency preparedness organizations as needed
    • Maintain inventory of all emergency preparedness supplies, including making sure the Hospital Command Center, alternate Hospital Command Center and the MEOC are fully supplied
    • Keep the Hospital Command Center, alternate Hospital Command Center & MEOC fully stocked.
    • Manage the Department of Health’s Emergency Preparedness grant to the hospital?

Education

High School Diploma or GED necessary, Associates, Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Emergency Preparedness or similar field preferred

Experience

Certification in Emergency Management, Incident Command System (IS 100, 200, 700 and 800)

Experience in emergency management, hospital emergency management and hazardous materials response preferred

Working knowledge of the incident command system
