With oversight and direction from the Director of Medical Education (DME) and the Program Director (PD), the Program Coordinator (PC) is responsible for the operational and financial management of the accredited residency/fellowship training program and to ensure compliance of the ACGME program. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
The Program Coordinator will continually assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, coordinating and supporting the preparation of didactic sessions, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations.
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years progressively responsible administrative experience OR a minimum of 3 years progressively responsible administrative experience in graduate medical education required.
Working knowledge of residency program structure and outside reviewing agency (ACGME) requirements. Knowledge of USMLE, COMLEX, ACGME and Specialty Board requirements for accreditation preferred. Must have experience of Microsoft Office. Working experience with graduate medical education related databases, including residency management suites, preferred. Certification through the National Board for Certification of Training Administrators in Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) preferred when eligible.
