Main Function
The Nurse Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise, facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among all team members. The Nurse manager promotes a climate of effective performance while allocating available resources to promote efficient, effective, and quality nursing/patient care. The Nurse Manager contributes to the development and implementation of strategic planning processes, day-to-day operations, and attainment of organizational and departmental goals. The Nurse Manager as a department head, is responsible for the total management and administrative functions of the units including 2West, 2East and Float pool inclusive of resolution of coverage and scheduling issues. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management of patient care, human, fiscal, regulatory compliance and distribution and usage of material resources, as well as the total environment of the nursing division on a twenty-four-hour basis
Education
BSN required, MSN preferred
Experience
5 years of clinical experience preferred. Ability to meet competencies of assigned clinical unit. Prior experience in Nursing supervision desirable
Certification required within 1 year
