As a first point of contact for most patients, the Patient Service Specialist provides direct, daily operational support in a manner consistent with Guthrie Medical Group’s Service Excellence Standards. The Patient Service Specialist will continually demonstrate Patient Centeredness, Teamwork, and Excellence in the daily performance of their duties. This position requires the ability to be self-motivated, flexible, punctual, detail oriented, have good time management skills and have excellent communication skills.
The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for performing ophthalmic work up, procedures, measurements and tests to provide data to the provider and assist in patient care. Position requires good understanding of optometry and ophthalmology outpatient day to day office routine. Assists provider throughout patient exam and office procedures. The Ophthalmic Assistant will continually demonstrate Patient Centeredness, Teamwork, and Excellence in the daily performance of their duties. This position requires the ability to be self-motivated, flexible, punctual, detail oriented, have good time management skills and have excellent communication skills.
High School diploma/GED required. Graduation from a Medical Office Assistant school preferred.
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant preferred;
Demonstrated customer service commitment in a fast-paced environment with a minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service related field preferred. Medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must be comfortable with computers and learning new applications.
2 years ophthalmic assisting experience with competency in working with both optometry and ophthalmology. Completion of home study course in ophthalmic assisting will be required within the first 6 months of employment for those candidates without certification.
