Nights - 12 hours
Provides coordination of medical communication between Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie physicians, referring healthcare facilities, and EMS agencies using the clinical expertise of a registered nurse (RN). Provides symptom-based triage and assessments over the phone. Coordinates bed control and patient flow for Robert Packer Hospital. Fosters professional nurse-empowered decision-making, accountability, and autonomy in nursing practice.
The RN must be currently licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. At minimum, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
A minimum of three years RN experience within the last five years and at least two years of prior experience in an ED or ICU setting is required. RN’s hired into this role must have extensive experience in a high acuity setting with strong clinical judgement, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Prior experience in multi-functional communications and emergency preparedness is preferred. Previous experience as a charge nurse or manager is preferred. Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. Will need to demonstrate ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
